Lamar Academy's International Baccalaureate Programme in McAllen ISD will have a new TED-Ed Club to start the new school year.
Students Sophia Niño and Riya Manohar were recently given the approval to host The TED Ed Club program that supports students in discovering, researching, exploring and presenting their unique ideas in the form of short, TED-style talks. The club will focus on TED-Ed’s public speaking curriculum and provide opportunities to connect with a global network of passionate youth about ideas worth sharing.
Students’ talks will be featured on the TED-Ed YouTube channel so that their ideas can be shared with their community and the world. The most compelling speakers from TED-Ed Clubs could even be invited by TED-Ed to New York. Sophia is pictured on the left and Riya is on the right.
