The seven-time state champion McAllen High Mariachi Oro has been selected as featured performers at this weekend's "Ay, Amor Mariachi Festival."
The event will be at 7 pm Saturday, September 10 at the the Bert Ogden Arena in Edinburg.
They will take the stage along with some of the best mariachis in the world together on one venue for the first time in the Rio Grande Valley. This includes Mariachi Vargas De Tecalitlán, Mariachi Los Camperos and Mariachi Nuevo Tecalitlán.
"What an honor for our students to represent McAllen ISD at this incredible celebration of music and culture kicking off Hispanic Heritage Month," McAllen High Mariachi Oro Instructor Alex Trevino said. "Come on out for what will be a show that you do not want to miss."
