The June Solstice occurs on Tuesday, June 21 and is celebrated around the world. Bring the family to Quinta Mazatlan, 6:30-8:30 pm, to learn solstice facts, fun and folklore!

The solstice marks the official first day of summer in the northern hemisphere and is the one day a year when the most sunlight is received. The Summer Solstice Festival at Quinta Mazatlan is designed for families and friends to gather and have fun in nature. Participants are encouraged to bring their own flower head garland and sun-wear to participate in Forest Bathing, Yoga and Tibetan Singing Bowls. The Solstice Garden features live music by Terraplex, RGV Circulo de Tambores Madre Tierra (Mother Earth Drum Circle), RGV Aerialist and a Fire Show by Sergio Martinez to close the celebration.

Children will learn from the many Solstice Science Stations with opportunities to assist in accomplishing scout badges. Sun crafts for all ages include sun catchers, UV color changing bead key chains/bracelets, rock painting, seed bombs and more. Free Summer Solstice activity booklets will guide children to the different solstice science stations.

All will enjoy the market place with healthy snacks including sun lemonade, corn in a cup, cookies and more. Tickets are available on quintamazatlan.ticketleap.com and are $5 per person. Children ages 2 and under are free.
