Points are earned through a variety of easy endeavors promoting good health. Last year, McAllen ISD and the City of McAllen were the winners in the School District and Community categories.

McAllen ISD staff, parents, children aged 13 and up plus community members can register for free at this link:  https://ittcommunitychallenge.com/

To register, click on the link and follow these steps:

  • Select your community -- McAllen
  • Select your School District -- McAllen ISD
  • Select you School -- if applicable
  • Goal setting categories -- eating healthier, being more active, drinking more water

When registering, it is important you include both “McAllen ISD” and “your school” in the profile so credit for points will go toward both entities. The It’s Time Texas Community Challenge window is from January 4-February 28.

Each participant will receive 500 points for signing up during the registration window of January 3-February 27. Participants can add 250 bonus points be registering before January 3.

Participants can set goals based on eating healthier, being more active and drinking more water.

During the eight-week challenge, participants will be able to earn wellness points daily. Earning points is simple. Points are awarded through a fitness tracker, by posting healthy selfies, through water consumption, watching a video on health and many other ways.

There is also an app that participants can download. It provides the tools to log healthy activities, set and achieve new healthy goals, find socially distanced events in your area and offers chances to win prizes.
