Congratulations to four McAllen High School Mariachi Oro students for bringing home the top awards at the 26th Annual Mariachi Vargas Extravaganza National Vocal Competition held virtually on December 5.
They earned 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place honors in the High School Division as well as the highly coveted “Best in The U.S. National Vocal Grand Champion” title which is the overall award across all divisions! It is the first time in the 26-year history of this national competition, the largest and most competitive of its kind, that a single school generated a complete sweep!
Way to go Ashley Treviño (Overall Grand Champion), Natalie Carmona (1st Place), Roxeth González (2nd Place) and Jenika Montes (3rd Place)!
