McAllen ISD parents will have the opportunity to take classes, including English as a Second Language (ESL), Citizenship Class, GED in Spanish along with technology classes and other job-skill classes.

The classes will be offered during the day and in the evenings on Tuesday and Thursday at the old Navarro Elementary (2100 W. Hackberry Ave.). Registration is slated to begin on Tuesday, October 13.  Laptops and hot spots will be distributed to parents that need devices to ensure they participate in the evening programs. Distribution of this equipment will commence soon for virtual remote learning for parents. 

Plans are underway to offer additional opportunities for McAllen ISD parents with community partners which include Region One Adult Education Program and South Texas College (STC) where parents can participate in GED Classes in English, Literacy classes, Financial Literacy, Customer Service Skills, Introduction to Sales, and more. The classes will be offered free to McAllen ISD parents. They can also qualify for a certificate and STC hours at the completion of each course.
